Welcome to Escaping Rent™ (“Escaping Rent,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of EscapingRent.org, Escaping Rent’s educational resources, free lessons, calculators and other tools, online courses including Escaping Rent Academy™, and related services.

By accessing or using our website or free educational resources, creating an account, enrolling in a free lesson, purchasing a course, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website, services, or educational programs.

1. About Escaping Rent

Escaping Rent provides educational information, resources, tools, and programs intended to help renters better understand potential paths toward homeownership.

Our services may include:

  • Educational articles and resources
  • Free lessons
  • Online courses
  • The Rent Escape Calculator
  • Worksheets and other educational tools
  • Email-based educational content
  • Other educational programs and services

Escaping Rent does not promise or guarantee that any particular person will become a homeowner or achieve any particular financial result.

2. Educational Purpose — No Professional Advice

All Escaping Rent content, including free lessons, courses, calculators, worksheets, emails, articles, videos, examples, and other educational materials, is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.

Escaping Rent does not provide:

  • Tax advice
  • Accounting advice
  • Mortgage or lending advice
  • Financial or investment advice
  • Individualized financial planning

3. Free Educational Content

Escaping Rent may provide certain educational resources at no charge, including a free introductory lesson, educational materials, calculators, worksheets, articles, email content, and other resources.

Free content is provided for educational purposes and may be changed, updated, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

Access to free content does not create an entitlement to any paid course, coaching program, membership, consulting service, or future Escaping Rent program.

4. Rent Escape Calculator and Other Interactive Tools

Escaping Rent may provide interactive tools, calculators, assessments, worksheets, and similar resources, including the Rent Escape Calculator.

These tools are intended to help users explore concepts and possibilities for educational purposes.

Results are estimates or educational outputs and should not be interpreted as:

  • Financial advice
  • Mortgage or lending advice
  • Investment advice
  • Tax advice
  • Legal advice
  • Real estate advice
  • A loan approval
  • A financing determination
  • A guarantee of eligibility
  • A guarantee of savings
  • A guarantee of homeownership

5. Artificial Intelligence

AI-generated information should not be relied upon as professional advice or as the sole basis for making financial, lending, legal, tax, real estate, or other significant decisions.

Escaping Rent does not guarantee that AI-generated information will be accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for your particular circumstances.

6. Escaping Rent Academy™

Escaping Rent Academy™ is a paid educational program offered by Escaping Rent.

Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, purchasing the Academy provides a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Academy materials for 24 months from the purchase date.

Your purchase is for your individual use only.

You may not sell, transfer, sublicense, assign, or otherwise provide your Academy access to another person.

Course materials are provided through our online learning platform and remain the property of Escaping Rent and/or its licensors.

Your purchase provides access to the course; it does not transfer ownership of the course materials.

7. Academy Course Release Schedule

The Escaping Rent Academy™ uses a scheduled (“drip”) release format designed to encourage steady progress and allow students time to apply what they learn.

Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase:

  • Two (2) lessons are available immediately upon purchase.
  • Two (2) additional lessons become available every seven (7) days thereafter until the scheduled course content has been released.

Escaping Rent may modify, improve, reorganize, update, or replace course content from time to time, provided such changes do not materially eliminate the principal educational value of the course purchased.

The availability of particular future lessons, features, tools, or materials is not guaranteed unless expressly stated as part of the purchase.

8. Academy Payment

The Academy purchase price is due in full at the time of purchase unless another payment arrangement is expressly offered.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • The Academy is a one-time purchase.
  • The Academy does not require a subscription.
  • The Academy does not automatically renew.
  • The Academy does not involve recurring billing.

The price and any applicable charges will be presented to you before you complete your purchase.

9. Academy Refund Policy

Escaping Rent wants you to be confident in your purchase.

If you are not satisfied with the Academy for any reason, you may request a full refund within six (6) calendar days of your purchase date by emailing:

info@escapingrent.org

The refund request must be received within six calendar days of the purchase. The timestamp of the email requesting the refund will determine whether the request was submitted within the applicable period.

If your refund is approved:

  • The refund will be issued to the original payment method.
  • Your Academy access will be terminated.
  • You may no longer access or use the paid Academy materials.

After the six-day refund period expires, all Academy sales are final, except where a refund is otherwise required by applicable law or expressly authorized by Escaping Rent.

The refund policy should also be displayed or linked clearly at checkout before payment. This is important because the FTC expects material refund terms to be clearly disclosed to consumers before they purchase.

10. Personal Use and Prohibited Course Sharing

Academy enrollment is for your individual educational use.

You may download and use Academy PDFs, worksheets, and other downloadable resources for your own personal educational purposes.

You agree that you will not:

  • Share your login credentials.
  • Allow another person to use your account.
  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, sublicense, or otherwise redistribute Academy materials.
  • Record Academy videos or lessons for redistribution.
  • Upload Academy videos or materials to websites, social media platforms, AI tools, file-sharing services, or other public or private platforms.
  • Use Academy materials to create a competing course or educational product.
  • Present Academy materials as your own original work.
  • Circumvent technical or access restrictions.
  • Use automated tools to scrape or systematically download Academy content.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity occurring through your account.

11. Intellectual Property

All Escaping Rent materials, including:

  • Videos
  • Lessons
  • Text
  • Worksheets
  • PDFs
  • Graphics
  • Logos
  • Course structure
  • Exercises
  • Calculator content
  • Educational materials
  • Other original content

are owned by Escaping Rent and/or its licensors and may be protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

Your purchase does not transfer ownership of any Escaping Rent content.

12. No Guarantee of Results

Escaping Rent does not guarantee that using our website, free resources, calculator, Academy, or other educational programs will enable you to:

  • Purchase a home
  • Qualify for financing
  • Obtain a mortgage
  • Improve your credit
  • Save money
  • Reduce housing costs
  • Become a homeowner
  • Achieve a particular financial outcome

Results vary based on numerous factors, including income, debt, credit history, savings, financial circumstances, local housing markets, property availability, interest rates, lending requirements, applicable laws, and individual implementation of the information provided.

Any examples, testimonials, case studies, or stories about other individuals represent their individual experiences and should not be interpreted as a guarantee or prediction of your results.

13. Third-Party Services and Technology

Escaping Rent relies on third-party technology and service providers to operate its website, educational programs, communications, marketing, CRM, and other business functions.

Depending on how you interact with Escaping Rent, these services may include providers for:

  • Website hosting
  • WordPress website functionality
  • Form processing
  • Automation and integrations
  • CRM and contact management
  • Email marketing
  • Learning management
  • Payment processing
  • Analytics
  • Advertising and marketing
  • Website security
  • Other technology and operational services

These may include services such as Hostinger, WordPress, Forminator, Make, Monday.com, MailerLite, Tutor LMS, payment processors, analytics providers, advertising platforms, and other providers we may use from time to time.

Your use of third-party services may also be subject to the applicable provider’s own terms and policies.

Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.

14. Accounts and Account Security

Certain Escaping Rent services may require you to create an account.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information reasonably current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

You agree to notify Escaping Rent if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization or your credentials have been compromised.

15. Prohibited Website and Service Use

You may not use Escaping Rent’s website, Academy, tools, or services to:

  • Violate applicable law.
  • Commit fraud or deception.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to our systems or accounts.
  • Interfere with the operation or security of our website.

Escaping Rent may suspend or terminate your access to an Academy account or other services if you materially violate these Terms.

  • Sharing account credentials

  • Unauthorized access attempts
  • Abuse of our systems
  • Other material violations of these Terms

Where reasonably appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the violation.

Termination resulting from a material violation may result in loss of Academy access without a refund.

Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under applicable law.

17. Website and Service Availability

We strive to keep EscapingRent.org and our educational services available and functioning properly.

However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

Access may occasionally be interrupted because of:

  • Maintenance
  • Software updates
  • Hosting problems
  • Internet or network issues
  • Third-party service interruptions
  • Security issues
  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue portions of the website or services when reasonably necessary.

Escaping Rent does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security, privacy practices, or terms of third-party websites or services.

Escaping Rent does not warrant that:

  • The services will meet your particular expectations.
  • The information will always be complete or error-free.
  • The website or Academy will always be available.
  • Calculator or AI-generated results will always be accurate.
  • Information will always reflect the most current laws, lending requirements, housing conditions, or financial circumstances.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Escaping Rent’s total aggregate liability arising from your purchase or use of the Academy shall not exceed the amount you actually paid for the Academy giving rise to the claim.

By using Escaping Rent’s website, creating an account, purchasing the Academy, or communicating with us electronically, you consent to receive electronic communications relating to your use of our services where permitted by law.

If specific terms presented to you at checkout conflict with these Terms, the specific purchase terms will control to the extent of the conflict.
